And, Im proud to add that my husband, Dave Young will be teaching Kite Making. Dave is also a local artist in resident for the Duncan Area. Here is a pic of some of last years proud kite makers! Don't miss out on all the fun! There will also be pottery making, mime, drawing, tie dying/batik, and dance. Sounds fun, doesn't it?
Summer is here and its time to enroll in summer swim lessons. I remember this being some of my kid's best summer memories. In fact, my son was talking about getting my granddaughter enrolled and how important it was for her to learn to swim. We are so lucky in Duncan to have these programs available.

The summer months have arrived and many of us are preparing for summer vacations. Here are some simple chores before you go to simplify...
1. Stop the mail. You can specify a day for the mail delivery to resume.
2. Tidy up. Nothing will ruin that post vacation calm more than coming home to a mess.
3. Water your plants. Put houseplants in large underbed storage bins. Add some pebbles & water in the bottom. The house plants will slowly absorb the water. If the plants don't require much water, simply move out of direct sunlight.
4. Protect your home. Put lights on timers. You can buy pattern security timer at amazon.com
5. Make a list. Assemble a list of items to not to forget. Check them off as they are packed. Make a copy of the list and carry with you. Check before you leave to come home to make sure you have everything back in your bag.
6. Turn off. Unplug televisions, small appliances, and other electronic appliances to protect them from power surges. As well, as conserving on electricity.
7. Leave a list. Leave of list of important task that need to be done when you return.
8. Plan something fun. Plan a dinner date or movie with friends to help with the end of vacation blues.
Enjoy your summer!
